Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

claim UB and working part time???

    My wife works two days a week but have never claimed for the other days which she doesnt work. I am in full time employment so would she still be able to claim or would my wages be counted? I dont suppose they back date and claim???

    They won't backdate.

    The key point and the 1st thing your wife will be asked is she actually looking for a full time job?
    Maybe she once worked 5 days a week but her hours were cut to 2 days by her employer for example.

    Because if she is content to work 2 days a week for some extra income but no more then that, the claim won't go ahead

    She was in full time emploment before she had a child 2 years ago but after her maternity leave she had only part time hours offered to her. Since then she has only had 2 days a week with more hours at xmas usually. Has looked for full time else where but only offered work that she'd have to travel a long way to. What you think

    The only way I could see her getting anything is if she is a) means tested and meets the criterea which is unlikely as you're in full time employment, or b) is actively looking for work and applies for Jobseekers Benefit (see http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/social-welfare/social-welfare-payments/unemployed-people/unemployment_benefit for more info).
