    Hi!

I'm from Poland and I just came to Ireland. I'm a graduate and I'm looking for a job related with computer networks (Cisco). I have quite good qualifications: Masters degree in Computer Science and Cisco CCNA certificate. I have already applied for many positions but I'm always getting the same response: "We're looking for someone more experienced" ... Can You tell me where should I look for this kind of job when I'm graduate with slight work experience ?

I think your best bet might be to apply for a graduate job with the likes of Ericsson and express that you wish to be considered for any placements in networks/ip engineering etc. you need to get some experience in IT whether is support or otherwise. ( i know its awful to think you might have to do support when you have an MSc and CCNA...but sadly thats the reality and how many grads have to start out their career in Ireland).

As your aware things are not good in Ireland at the moment and there are alot of recruitment freezes in place = more canditates on the market = more competition :o

Not being an ass but there is a lot of companies in Ireland that don't hire as much non-nationals as they should. I remember seeing this one Polish guy's CV and I could not believe that he was looking for a job. Had about 40 Certs and good ones at that , 10 years experience in good companies.

It all depends on what you want to do . Is it CS or Networking. I know a company in Cork that would be hiring someone with your skills but i don't know without experience.

U need to tailor your CV to suit the job rather than a generic CV.

I only twice didnt get a job I applied for as they were different from what I thought before the interview and I didnt show interest as a result as it was not something I wanted.

Don't use job sites are its bull****. Instead you need to target companies with specialized cv's you should have one for each area you are interested in.

You should then write a gripping cover letter full of BS

    Dear John/mary/etc

dont send out generic mails to people. As its IT you don't need to use the post but people in HR departments do read these mails and Delete all the ones that start like the following.

    To whow it may concern,

    dear sir/madam etc

its like viagra spam to them.

I had a job before I finished University as I did this. Its all a load of BS but think what will make them read it. Think positive and only apply for jobs that you really are interested and want to do as there is no point in apply for stop gaps like support as you are better doing something you like for little pay than something u hate everytime.

I got a job in a big cork computer company. I got an interview the day after my mail. I was told by the HR manager that she gets 10 cv's every day. U need to stand out. Its so bad now that people call to work now to drop in CV's but no one from HR will take the cv off them. they all go in the bin. Don't be desperate. But confident that basically you want to work for company X if now now you would like to someday. its like your selling a car. you just have to get an interview, then its up to you.
