Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Arsenal v Wigan is on Sky sports tomorrow night.

Looking forward to seeing the Arsenal (not to mention the Man United) youngsters in action. Gonna be some genuine future superstars on show.

Derby V Leeds is the tie of the round!

Derby are nothing special. Think that Leeds could take them.

    I agree :pac:

Could be the first time Leeds reach the Quarter final since the year we were hammered by Villa in the final. Derby are no great team and we have looked great in the Carling Cup so far. I keep homing we win and then draw Man U at Elland Rd. Would be sweet!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/league_cup/7708789.stm

Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Possebon will make his comeback for Manchester United in the Carling Cup against QPR.

Sir Alex Ferguson will also give starts to fellow youngsters Rafael Da Silva, Jonny Evans, Darron Gibson and striking duo Manucho and Danny Welbeck.

Gavin Mahon could start for QPR after scoring when he came off the bench against Cardiff on Saturday.

But Mikele Leigertwood serves the third game of a fourth-match ban while Rowan Vine is still sidelined.

Arsenal will as usual play the U12's
I expect the team to be something like this:

    Fabianski
    Hoyte Song Djourou Gibbs
    Wilshire Randall Ramsey Merida
    Bischoff
    Vela

Think Bendtner will be rested for this, should be a good open game I hope

Swansea away for the second time in 48 hours.

Hopefully a better result this time but I seriously doubt it.

    4nil Swansea.

Williamson put us one nil up away to these on Sunday as well.

    We lost that one 3-1.

Ahh wouldn't mind a cup run, last time we did bad in the league and went on a cup run we came very close to knocking yourselves out in the semis;)

Subs: Cesar, Bentley, Bent, Modric, Gunter, Boateng, Rocha.

surprised theres no pennant even on the bench. Nice to see a new look right hand side of Degen and El Zhar, very attacking, will be interesting to see. Also looking forward to seeing how N'Gog does up front, hopefully with a bit of space with Torres double marked.

Glad that mistake on the site has rectified itself with Babel starting and Yossi on the bench. Good very attacking team put out anyway.

Whats the deal with subs in this competition? Is it always 6? Would have assumed it would go up to 7 like the premierleague did.

Someone please tell me I wasn't the only one who heard the Sky Sports host pronounce the Spurs manager as Harry Redknob? He said something like that and then said, "sorry... Redknapp" with a smirk on his face.

scratch that, liverpoolfc.tv were just being particularly mistake ridden. Alonso has since been added in as the 7th sub.

he really is the best man on TV, bar none!

Now, Come on the Pool! I really want Degen, Dossena, El Zhar, Lucas and N'Gog to impress me tonight!

    And Plessis!

Babel looking very up for it tonight so far. If he keeps beating his man and coming inside id fancy him to score.

Edit: Soft soft booking, barely grazed cambell. Im getting really annoyed with the soft yellows this season (in all games, not just pool). Late = foul, not ALWAYS a yellow!

Torres rusty as an old nail, still it only takes one moment.

Pool need to stop overhitting the pass. Torres does look rusty alright, hopefully this run out sorts that out.

    Liverpool meandering about the pitch

Is Arberloas suspension down to the fifth yellow he picked up on Saturday or does that suspension not kick in until the weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,022 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

that was awful stuff, Hyypia entirely at fault, he actually just stopped challenging and let the ball come in.

I've never seen Yellows given out any where near as frequently as they have been this year. Thats already 4 in this game, with not a single bad tackle!

2-0 awful stuff. Keeper should be clearing out everyone to win that...

<edit> Make that 5 FIVE yellows, with no bad challenges.

    just super.

daniel agger is not cutting it

WTF...3-0, defence all over the place. Game over unless we get a comeback of istanbul like proportions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

i had been giving dossena time, but he is pure crap. as is degen and cavilieri. they should not be alowed back onto the pitch in the 2nd half even if it means going out with 10 men...

EDIT: Jazzy i dont think any have been aggers fault, more hyypia, dossena, degen and cavilieri. Agger has been the only half decent performer at the back.

Are you shitting me?! Daniel Agger is the least of our worries tonight! Dossena and Hyypia have been the culprits for the goals, with Agger actually stopping a clear goal.
