Planning Authority Workshops!

While posting a reply in another thread it got me thinking about what happens in other areas of the country in relation to workshops or seminars.

In Donegal the planners will have a workshop/seminar for the agents when ever a new County Development Plan is being prepared or when major changes to the P & D Acts have taken place and similarly if there are major changes to the BC regs. Its not so much of a case of them looking for our input but more as an information and FAQ event in order to inform and familiarise us with the new regs.

    What happens in your county?

We've had two workshops over the last few years, we get free lunch!!! They can be quite useful like at the last one the Senior planner was asked about a 100m rule of dwellings from slatted sheds etc that they had been using to refuse permissions left right and center and he admitted that it was never a valid rule and no longer used although I'm fairly sure they wouldn't have told anyone except that it was asked at the meeting (probably by the agent who won an appeal over it!!) We are due another one if the councillers can stop fighting with the minister and adopt a reasonable development plan. Auctoneers don't make the best people to decide developent plans and neither do Green Party Ministers!!!

    Very much ditto.
Although I have gotten a few phone calls down through the years about adoption of new legislation at different times in order that invalidation wouldn't occur.

With regard to Social Housing Exemption certificates - and Dublin City Council

If you apply for permission for a house - and SHEC ..... Say you get the SHEC but house is refused - planner not happy with aspects of design .

So you re submit an altered design . With granted SHEC

    They will invalidate .

You must re apply for a new SHEC , new OS map , new stat dec . On the application form you must acknowledge the granted SHEC ....
Sure you're in the right thread?
