9800GT/Blank screen

    I was helping a friend set up his PC and had a major issue. When I have this card in, the monitor just stays blank. Nothing on it at all. The fan on the card is spinning fine though so I don't think its an issue with the power supply.

    Its the Asus 9800gt, and his mother board is the MSI p45 Neo.

    The only other thing I can think of it is, the card came with an S/PDIF-out (Never needed this on a card before) cable. The connection slot on the PC is 4 pins, but the cable has 3.

    PC - XXXX
    Cable - OO-O

    Edit: Using DVI slot so from what I understand that S/PDIF stuff shouldn't be important
    Motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics on it so I can't test without card on.

    Edit2: Theres no sound at all from it when turned on(no beeps)
