    Hi,

Can anyone reccommend a good palce to eat & see the Irish game on Saturday? Going to Alone it stands that evening so need to eat early - and see the match!

    Thanks,
    Tom

Curragower will have it on and they do seafood?

The Locke should let you watch the match and eat a proper dinner at the same time, as does Clohessy's if it's not too busy.

Wasn't too impressed with the Locke - burnt Chicken Kiev!

Whats Clohessy's like for dinner - have only had lunch there.

    Where is Curragower??

    Thanks,
    tom

Keep away from The Locke, food is terrible there.

Curraghgower is an excellent idea, chowder and really nice sandwiches.

It is across Sarsfields Bridge turn right and it it on your left hand side

Dolan's would be a good spot on the dock road.

Clohessys will be jammed solid with people jostling for seats. The usual groups of women not watching the match will have the couch's of course.

Bobby Byrnes does good food but a little out of the way for a visitor.

Where are you staying and what kind of pubs do you like?

Anyone know if Curragower has a website? Have tried google but nothing came up.

We're staying in the city & are looking for somewhere with good quality food where we can also catch the match.

    Doubt it does.

Looking at the options on the thread, Bobby's and Dolans would have good food alright. Curragower recently changed ownership (I think) so you'd be best to call them to see if they suit your plans or not.

Best I could find for Curragower. Nice location and would be very busy.

Smyths Bar on Denmark St. http://www.smythsbar.com/

It has a good choice during the day. Cold & hot food and a carvery to boot. Good food but mass produced in carvery. I like it there. Its fine for everybody includes kids during the day but its more of an under 30's place at night as its in the nightclub district.

Flannerys Bar next door is very good. They are doing great food and are expanding the menu soon. Its a great place to watch the match and if you smoke one of the best places in town. The smoking area is outdoors/indoors with a hatch to get drinks, covered roof 80/20, heaters and tv's.

Not sure if Souths do food while matches are on, but food in there is lovely and you get a weird (garryowen rfc) crowd in there.

Just kidding about the G'owen rfc there. :D
