Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rogue Weapon Question

    Hey lads, first post in this forum so be gentle! Been playing the game for a couple of weeks now and am loving it. Decided to go for a human rogue as my character and have gotten up to level 23. Just after completing Deadmines instance a few times with a few mates and have managed to get 2 Buzzer Blades from Sneed's Shredder and 1 Cruel Barb from Van Cleef. Just wondering which of them I should use in my main hand? I have been using Backstab a bit in general play and in Deadmines so I'm thinking the Buzzer Blade because its a dagger, but the Cruel Barb does more damage per second. Or would using both Buzzer Blades be better? As I say only new to the game so don't really have a clue!

    Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

    Hey billy welcome to the forum, and welcome to the wonderful world of warcraft.

    I cant say im in the know about rogues, but one bit of advice id give, is do not worry about which weapons to use.

    You generally find you will replace them soon enough.

    Focus your energy into levelling up your character, and enjoying the beautiful world around you.

    The game jsut opens up wider as you level more, and when you hit 60,70 and now soon 80, there is an abundance of content available.

    The game really kicks in when you hit high levels :)

    Whatever you do, dont rush your levelling. The first time you do it is the best part of Warcraft. I'd disagree with a lot of people here, and say that endgame is pretty damn boring. As for weapons, it doesnt really matter. You'll pick up decent ones as you level up. Just dont spend any money on them. Buying from the AH can be a bad habit to start into.

    Hello mate, ill answer your question.

    The weapons you use depend on your spec and play style.

    For main hand go with a slow and powerful weapon , and offhand go for fast.

    So always have the weapon with highest dmg output regardless of speed in main hand, and then the faster of your two weapons in the offhand.

    So to make it simpler, if your using dual daggers go with speeds of:

    MH: 1.80 and OH: 1.40

    If your using swords,maces,fist weapons etc go with:

    MH: 2.60 and OH: 1.50

    The above is just an example, you will find weapons with varying speeds as you go along, so just remember Slow/fast ;)

    What nix said.

    So Cruel Barb in MH and Buzzer in OH at this stage. Don't worry about backstab yet - it does great damage but you'll be specialising later on (assuming you spec Combat) - so you can decide then on a weapon choice. At this stage you want the greatest damage and you'll get that from the slower weapon. You'll be replacing both of those weapons very shortly anyway.
