How are stations assigned? Do you have any choice?

In a word...NO. You're assigned a station and there you go. Welfare requests can be put in depending of family circumstances but don't think you'll get close to home based on that. If from Dub then you'll prob go to Dub but anyone else can be sent to where the people are needed. Stations need people when people retire/resign/transfer and based on that people get their stations. If you get somewhere you don't like then serve your time and put in your transfer request...might take some time, but all good things come to those who wait!

    Later,
    Cul :)

One thing you can rely on the guards for and that is nothing is definite.

Are the stations you get at phases 2 and 4 the same??

Phase 2 and 4 stations are normally different...sometimes some people get back to their Phase 2 station but more often than not they're different. Normally for Phase 2 stations they'll keep you around within 1 1/2 hours from home but it's a lottery for Phase 4.

To answer and re-inforce what the Nog said......no guarantees at all for the Dubs. Have a couple of Dub mates who got Shannon Airport on Phase 4...but the "majority" get Dublin.

Phase 3s got their stations on Friday just gone and 90% of every class has been sent to Dublin. To be expected though, we're the freeflow intake :D
