Hi, my hubbie and I are considering a move down under and I was wondering if anyone out there had a good website for more information on recruitement agencies etc.

We would be bringing our 2 young children (one still in the oven and the other a toddler).

He has been to Oz before but neither of us have been to NZL. I'm not even sure where we really want to go as we have a lovely home here but I worry about the future. He is in construction (self employed) and I am in IT Marketing.

If you know of any good websites to help us in our decision or anyone that can advise us e.g. recruitment firms etc then that would be a great help. Obviously we would want to have some form of employment set up before we get there (if we get there).

    Thanks

theres www.britishexpats.com which seems to have lots of people with kids on it. There's a lot of info on it. Mainly British folk, but a few Irish on it.
From what I've seen here, it's more independent travellers on it, though I do find this forum very helpful for any information I have ever needed...

If you are seriously considering a move perhaps you should
take a trip out there first to see if you like it. Moving lock stock
without having been there is a risk, especially with a new baby!
Do you have any family over there?
For NZL there is a new zealand
boards site.7 years ago I went to Australia & New Zealand, on the typical working holiday. It was really beautiful, amazing weather & relaxed people. Culturally, it is different to ireland, the pub scene is very different. There are are lot of rules. I'd even go sofaras to say Australia is a little bit on the draconian side.
But, they do have a good education system and the social scene is very family friendly. So as long as you don't mind walking the line and are prepared to socialise away from the irish bars, you could do much worse.
New Zealand feels much more isolated in comparison, but the european settlers managed to integrate much more successfully there and it shows.
I read a couple of years ago the New Zealand is one of the least corrupt countries in the world. Very different from these parts, me thinks!
Best of luck with it whatever you decide.
