PASSENGERS were hurt when their bus crashed into a milk float early today.
The Eurolines service, with 36 people on board, from Dublin to London crashed into the milk float parked on the A51 Tarporley Road in Tarvin, near Chester at 3.05am. The milkman had stepped out of the vehicle to deliver milk when the crash happened.
Three women passengers on the bus were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with slight injuries, according to a spokeswoman for Cheshire Police.
Firefighters freed the bus driver from the wreckage and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Paramedics treated others for cuts and shock at the scene. Thirty-two other passengers, including two children and a baby, were taken to a nearby hotel.
The coach, believed to be packed with people of various nationalities, had been on its way from Dublin to London via Birmingham and Coventry. Tarporley Road was closed while police gathered evidence about the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 01244 613163/8.
