Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Very sad to read the passing of Mitch Mitchell, best known for his work in the Jimi Hendrix Experience, his scattered jazzy style was as important to the sound, as Jimi's strat.

    RIP :(

    Sad news indeed. :(

Mitch was a fabulous drummer & his style was indeed crucial to the Experience sound.

Jeez, another hero of my youth has gone.

RIP Mitch, you brought pleasure to millions of people.

Yeah, another sad loss of a musician from a legendary band. Gonna whip out those albums, down a few beers and toast the lives of all three.

Mitch was brilliant!! No one can play Jimi tunes like him! No matter how many times you play along to one of the songs you still cant play it half like mitch even inntended...he just had this feel for a song that very hard to imitate

That very sad, only heard now, last time I saw him was when Hendrix was being induced in Rock and Roll hall of Fame in London with Slash, both the lads we locked and hilarious on the podium (Cant find that bit anywhere)but were still well able to play when it came down to it, the did a version of Hey Joe with Steve Winwood and Billy Cox at the time.
