This might be a stupid question but,

How do I download the patch? Was it automatically downloaded by Steam, and if so how do I check?

If you authenticated via Steam, then it should have auto d/l the patch from there.

To check if you've updated.... at the Main screen in FM09, click on Preferences, and the version you're on is at the top of the screen below the Football Manager 2009 title. v9.1 means its patched.

Frisbee, make sure your clock is the exact time. Down to the same second.

Does this actually make a difference?!
    Same second as what?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling, then using Steam to authenticate or authenticate by phone?

EDIT: are you still sharing the game with your mate?

I've tried it on Steam using his account when I know he wasn't on.
    I've tried the alternative activation.
I've installed and uninstalled the game at least three times.
    I've lost hope

if you log onto his account on steam does it not show up as one of his playable games? normally you wouldn't have to authenticate the game on each computer, you just authenticate it to the account and can run it anywhere you log into your account. haven't bought this FM so i dunno if it still holds.

    Apparently not... :o

This is ridiculous, I'm just trying to do it through the Uniloc method now and I'm still getting the 703 error...

Hi all, wonderin if anyone can put me in the right direction. Purchased and downloaded Steam, how do I actually:
    - Get online
    - Join gaming community
    - Lose tragically to others etc etc etc
    - Any Irish FM2009 forum etc

Have checked servers etc but there doesn't seem to ever be anyone on.
