Best Spec Laptop for around 500

Hi All,

Just wondering if someone can give me a hand trying to find the best spec on a laptop for about 500, will really just be used for pics, music, videos, net ... the usual casual stuff,

Its for a girl so if it was bit funky that would help too,

This is a good price, it comes with Vista & you also get XP on Disc in case you want to revert to XP (Not funky though).

i personally would not purchase from laptopdirect , their customer service is an absolute disgrace , a quick google search should confirm it for you.

As a rule of thumb, the Aldi ones are normally good enough specs for the price, Tesco have 25% off all weekend on their laptops, might get a good deal for yourself in there

Around 580 for Acer 5920G off ebuyer. I think its worth thinking about spending that bit extra

If you order a dell vostro at the moment, expect big delays, if you look on the dell laptops thread you will see people reporting delays of up to a month! You may not see your laptop this side of Christmas. Or look on the dell outlet...
