O2 have disclosed their q3 stats showing 82,000 mobile bb subscribers in Ireland , they have moved into Bitstream too.

Before the lying minister of communications prattles his usual rubbish in the Dáil this uptake must be see for what it is , namely is a sign of FAILURE not of success.

O2's growing mobile broadband base drove non-SMS data revenue, which was up 12.5pc year on year. Some 82,000 customers have subscribed to O2's mobile broadband since its launch last year; a major uptake, helped by the lack of fixed-line broadband availability in many parts of the country, which has been an ongoing source of complaint from businesses and consumers alike.

A spokesman said O2 had begun offering fixed broadband to SMEs only at present.

By contrast their total for DSL and Mobile combined in the UK ( they own Be a well regarded LLu operator ) is 267,000, only 3 times as much for 14 times the population
