the title was gonna be something like 'i want my horn back' or 'i lost my horn'..... but it was a little too obvious

Horns are normally held on with one or 2 nuts (ha ha)

Playing with them too much can break them.

Resist touching your horn everytime you see a good looking burd.

    Were you at a wedding?

Slightly off-topic.. but has anyone ever been disappointed by the horn in their car? My Passat has a big manly sounding horn :D but I had a Golf for a few days and I don't know if it was broken or something but all it had was a little beep.. so here I was coming round a roundabout when this idiot shoots out in front of me and all I can do is give him this little tiny beep???!! I was disgusted! :p

Was so glad to get the Passat back I can tell you!

That's interesting cause usually the size of the car is inversely proportional to the size of the horn ;)

Right it could be a couple of things.... Firstly you need to locate the horn, usually mounted in behind the front grill ( should look like one of these http://www.autoectech.com/auto%20accessories/car%20horn/horn.jpg ).

Take out the horn, disconnect the 2 wires from it (There may only be one wire, if the negative comes from where its bolted on). Then get jumper 12V onto it from your battery and see if it works... chances are it won't...

you'll pick up a replacement in any motor factors or a scrap yard. The same horn is probably used on lots of nissans... i wouldn't bother going back to Nissan for a replacement...

Check the power supply and earth connections at the horn. Nine times out of ten it's just a bad earth. A clean up and shot of WD40 cures a multitude of ills.

kinda comes and goes at the moment very infrequent tho..... bad connection or the horn needs replacing?

Going by what you said I'm guessing it's the fuse needs replacing or it's loose. Happened on my first car (a punto :D)

when i said infrequent i meant that the majority of the time it is not working but when it does work, rarely, it sounds very bad..... i think its the horn itself
