Most of us are feckin Irish on this site and world renownd for our wit. But you have these gob****es thinking ah ha this seems to be a cool word so I will use it and perhaps I may look cool in front of my peers. Get a fecking life, be more creative in your criticism. I know I'm probably leaving myself wide open for jibes but feck it, at least I got my point across.
    :o

Delighted to see so many of you agree. Unfortunately you will still get some muppets out there looking for attention.

Any way enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I kinda agree with ya? I mean I do find the "fail" photos funny, if a little over used, but yes, surely there are better ways to portray a feeling..

I mean the land of saints and scholars should be able to muster up something better than a single dismissive word!

As Cicero said: "Brevity is the best recommendation of speech, whether in a senator or an orator."

    Scholarise that!

Lexus, in the past month you've started threads giving out about the thanks button (an obvious attempt at ironic thanks), bitching about Atari Jaguar and now you're giving out about FAIL.

Methinks you just start threads like these because you think those things annoy others and that they'll thank you for pointing them out.

Stop being such a moaner and a thanks-whore.

    Fail^99. :P

Welcome to the internet my friend. It's not about looking cool, it's about pointing out that the thread or post FAILS to meet the required standards of legibility, sensibilty etc.

It's such a shame that by directing it at me, you used it so incorrectly.

Oh and for future reference, don't use img tags in AH, they don't work here (which is why it appeared as a link)

    It's a misspelling of "owned".

If one person makes another look stupid, you would say he owned him.

It's all very American and very sad.

Nothing wrong with "fail" if accompanied by a witty fail pic imo. Pity they can't be embedded into posts in this forum. I've often spent hours surfing failblog.org pissing myself laughing.

    Lighten up OP.

Pathetic US internet meme. Give it another few years and our lingo will be all US, with all the US tv and movies we watch. All the US individuals we mingle with in message boards online.
    Go figure

this is the biggest fail of all, anti-US ****e - grow up.

and to the rest of you - you are on an internet forum, people will use internet terms and slang, the same as if you go to Cork, or dublin, or london, or Cape Town or Sydney - they will all have terms and slang, colloquialisms.

If you only wish to debate in proper "Queens's English" then I suggest you do your debating and socialising in RL

Now feck off before I have to really PWN J00 N00b Caek.

Atari Jaguar... wtf is that? roflcopter? srsly? I see it everywhere but never asked the question, what in gods name is an atari jaguar. I see a big cat playing an old gaming system... Yikes?

No no, fail is a powerful word for nerds, as other nerds get seriously pissed off when you use this word against them. Epic fail is even worse.
