I am using a Motorola V550 (RTG on Vodafone) which needs to be replaced. Budget is up to €250, something simple enough. I don't care about fancy ringtones but wouldn't mind WIFI.

my choice came down to the E51 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_E51 or the N78 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N78
the e series is more of a business phone where the n series is a multimedia phone. both of them have wifi... i think today nearly any of the phones you get will have the facilty for "fancy ringtones" :)

N78? Have you seen/tried that keypad? Get some nice earphones for the e51 and you have a decent musicplayer. Even the better cam in the 78 doesn't make up for that keypad imho... Ah heck: it totally sucks! Hahaha built quality of e51 is loads better as well!

have i seen it ? hmmm... ive been using it every day for the past 5 months !
though if you have like really fat fingers like i do... its actually no problem at all.
a main reason i went for the n series was because its on the symbian OS, so i can download/learn to write software for it... but hmmm e51 is on the same OS... sweet !

i think they are both nice phones.
does the e51 have a flash on the camera ? - i dont know.

If you like your gadgets then who would be without the first Nokia phone that has an FM transmitter ! espicially with the radio these days :) i use it in the car every day :)
