Has anyone got the LinkSys WirelessG Broad Band Router
Model: WRT54G2 working on Eircom wireless? I've set it
to PPPoE with the settings from Eircom

    Username: eircom
    Password: broadband1
    Encapsulation: PPPoE
    Multiplexing: LLC Based
    VPI: 8
    VCI: 35
    Primary DNS: 213.94.190.194
    Secondary DNS: 213.94.190.236

But it won't connect. Say's can't get an IP address.
Anyone got it working with Eircom?

Should the username not be eircom@eircom.net?

    Yeah I tried that too.
That's what my old router, has but the instructions on the eircom
site say it's just 'eircom'. See:

lol, use what was on the last router.

Also update the firmware if you just got it (although check the fixlist first).

When I got my linksys WRT54G, it used to drop is connection until restart before I updated the firmware.

it would be a crime if anyone had one of those routers and used the stock firmware. ;)

there's so many other 3rd party firmware options (for *most* hardware revisions) that turn it into something quite special.

get ye browser over to linksysinfo.org for all things wrt54g'ish. :)
