Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

I use Windows XP (SP3). I only use the Administrator account when i have to...i use the Guest account instead cos i heard that's safer practice.

You know the Microsoft critical security updates (that come about once a month) ?
....I have my comp download them automatically which means my comp automatically restarts itself when it gets one of these critical updates. That means my comp restarts itself once every few weeks, usually about 5 or 10 minutes after i switch it on. That's no problem. The problem is there's no warning message.

I know i can get a warning messge when i use the Administrator account, but unfortunately not in the Guest account. Anyone have a similar problem, and a possible solution to getting the warning message when using my Guest account?

Incorrect, using a standard user account is safer practise. The guest account is only intended for people who will only be using the machine once.

there is a setting in system policy to allow non-admin users see updates
but best to set up a normal user and disable / rename the guest account

Oh dear. I thought i could only have 2 types of accounts....Admin and Guest. I didnt know there was a third one called Normal or Standard.

    I'll check it out. Thanks.
