i say its rigged because when it has u going down it will give u a pair of aces....(everyone splits aces right?) and u just know its not gonna give u cards while the dealer has 21...just little things like that u know?...

It is rigged - they make no secret of that - you can't beat house games, end of story.

Stop playing games against the house, if you can't stop, seek help.

yeah i know man...i think i should just stick to poker...i don't think i need gamblers anonymous just yet,i'm def staying away from house games like the plague..when u lose like that it really eats up up...stay away from house games kids...he speaks the truth

    House games = NO.

    Poker = Maybe.

Only play with money you don't mind losing, money that you don't need to pay bills/live on, money that won't cause you to lose any sleep or fret over. That's easier said than done.

I'm sure there will be posters along shortly to offer more indepth advice shortly.

yes, thank u man...it may sound dumb but sometimes u need reassurance that it actually is rigged...i feel im good at both poker/bj..for example the 600+ i had won id won that night via poker and bj just with an initial stake of just 20 dollars...double it a few times at the poker tables so i would have enough to have a good go at the blackjack table...i really should have withdrawed when i was up,but its easy to say that now when its gone...but i feel even a good bj player will just have a nightmare on these games :(

For what it's worth, I used to work for paddypower.com.

I can state with 100% certainty that the casino games are not rigged.

ok man u play them then...let me know how u get on

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,092 ✭✭✭Glowingmind

Oh, i probably should have added, while they're not rigged, the house does have an edge (like it's supposed to) and playing house games is dumb.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that they're rigged in any dishonest way. Probably just a bad choice of words by the op.
But I hope were agreed that over time the house edge is unbeatable long term. Even playing perfect blackjack isn't going to win, and card counting isn't really an option.

they say its random...but i feel its random to the extent of being kind to the dealer...if u get what i mean....

obv i have no idea how much you lost, but if you are affected by the lost its obv your playin above your means,

advice take a month off to cool down - and then decide what you want to do - but the main thing being play with money you can afford to lose.

You said earlier that you originally invested $20. So your down $20, forget about the virtual $600. Sounds to me like it was a relatively cheap few hours entertainment.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 39 Sabertooth

yeah i tried chasing up losses though..so along with the virtual 600...(man, why didnt i withdraw, again) i went through like another 150 or so...thanks alot guys may sound lame but this helps me....

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

It's better in the long run that you didn't withdraw, if you had - you would probably keep playing house games more and more and run up huge loses, $20/$600 (depending on how you look at it) is a lucky escape.

    Don't fall back into it.
Hope it works out for you.

Betfair have zero-blackjack, and zero roulette, where the house has zero edge.

Check it out. You don't have to worry about the 'rigged' house edge anymore.

i played poker and blackjack (some 3 card also) on ppp...............never played with money i couldnt afford. The problem you can run into is the time element, its too fast, you dont have time to cool down after succesive beats, you just get faster and faster, whereas at a casino you get much more longevity and enjoyment from your game. I closed my account after losing 35 out of 38 hands at blackjack......no joke, experimented with a mate of mine. I now play poker only online, and about 3/4 times a year i venture to the live blackjack table at a casino. If it helps, heres my tip to you, hit and run at live blackjack, if you sit there long enough you might aswell give it to the guy selling the big issue in the street. Finally, two sacred words for gambling....BANKROLL MANAGEMENT....... never ever, ever, ever play with money you cannot afford to lose.

Honestly, If you think it is fixed, why play it? I never understood why people play Blackjack, it boggles the mind. Stick to the Poker.

These games are just variance. If you're down then you are almost definitely gonna hit a run of cards. The key is to vary your betsizes so you can make a profit. Seeing as you've been unlucky I'd just deposit as much as I can and lump it all on the first hand. Thats how variance works.

The roulette wheel has no zero. The blackjack table, I don't really know, but feel free to check it out.

Pretty sure this is a joke....
OP, please don't take this seriously, this is not how variance works!

Even if the house has no edge, you have no edge either.
You are essentially gambling for fun and paying for your winning sessions with your losing sessions.

Why anyone would want to do this online is beyond me

That isn't actually funny! You're a respected poster here and someone could very well try that! Although they won't be complaining if they win...

OP, Not trying to sound rude,
but you really don't understand how blackjack works if you are suggesting it is rigged.
It should really be plainly obvious wht its a bad idea. and failing to see that would hang a cloud of chances of turning a profit at the poker table
