don't like that camera rig thing. i dont think the environmental impact of building it would be justified by a few nice snaps.

the filming you could acheave would be ungoodly good one really good way of giving you a good idea about surfing....

i dout the elders of the island would allow such things to happen eather....

No you wouldn't. There's a reason not many people big wave surf- it's fukcin dangerous. Can you hold your breath (with little to no air in your lungs) for 2 mins underwater, while being thrown up, down and all around in pitch darkness? You feel like your ears will burst from the pressure (and they may), that your arms will be ripped out if you let them flap...and then when you finally get to the surface, you get one breath, then you're hit by another wave, and you have to do it all again... oh and maybe I better not mention reefs...

    recent deaths at pipeline:
Moto Watanabe, aspiring pro Japanese surfer (19 January 2004)
Jon Mozo, local surf photographer (10 February 2005)
Malik Joyeux, Tahitian charger (2 December 2005)
Joaquin Velilla, Puerto Rican transplant and big wave surfer (12 January 2007)
Joshua Nakata, local underground bodyboarder (16 March 2008)

Stick to the head high stuff, it's dangerous enough as it is.
