Speeding Camera - Question

    Dear experts,

Was driving from red cow roundabout today at lunchtime towards town past long mile road junction and as on a number of occasions before, the gardai were 'shooting' for victims from behind a lamp post. It seems to be a very common spot for them to sit and do their duties.

I was in traffic obviously and just keeping up but I would say I was above the 60km limit.

What I would like to know is with the handheld cameras that the guards do this type of speeding work with, do they have to stop you and fine you there and then or will the fine be winging its way in the post?

Thanks in advance for depressing/cheering me.

If it was a tripod, you could get a letter, if not and they didn't stop you I wouldn't worry about it.
Especially if you were keeping up with traffic. It's too hard to take all those number plates at once.
