N2 - Ashbourne to Slane

Dunno if you know this part of the N2 but something really needs to be done about it. It can take 25 mins to get from Kilmoon X at peak times. This usually takes around 5 mins at most. In the evenings the heaviest of the traffic seems to end at Kilmoon Cross but I can imagine how painful it is once it gets to Slane. There's a Slane bypass planned but is there anything that can be done about the N2 from Ashbourne going North? It's all caused by the side roads feeding this road and traffic slowing down to let people out.

This section of road is unimportant now since the N33 at Ardee - N2 long distance traffic is supposed to be using the M1 and the N33.

As for local traffic, maybe some minor improvement might take place, but you won't see large scale construction.

it's not long distance traffic causing the problem. It's all the commuter traffic coming off the M1 at Drogheda and coming from the surrounding areas.
