Thank you for your reply oeb.I fear that the Lacey or Lacy name is no longer in Killarney.Maybe there are some far out relatives now married with other names.I only have a 2006 directory at the moment until I get to Kerry and there are no Killarney Laceys .I am going back to grandfather and great grandfather times. They lived in a lane off one of the main streets .The head of the family was Timothy (I think)and he was a shoemaker.Other family names would be Edward,Henry(Harry) Matthew,Redmond,Esther and Catherine. As I go further into research I may have more to go on.So thanks again oeb.:)

Did you have any luck? I have a contact for you if you want, a man in his eighties but who grew up down the lanes and believes he can tell you about the family. PM me if you want

I got a taster off the barman in Dan Linehans in town one night. Not a bad beer but I don't think if have more than 3 or 4 pints. Felt heavy on the stomach.

The fact that is was arranged on such short notice probably affected numbers considerably.

At least some good comes out of the whole mess with the charities benefiting.

Everyone looking forward to the weekend - town should be fairly hopping with the Munster final and the Ring of Kerry cycle and the 3rd of July celebration.

How's the town looking for the Ring? I hope the flags are out.:D

Sure aren't we after moving the 4th of July parade forward a day to make sure things are all set for the cyclists and some of the locals are even giving away free beer tomorrow.

Hey guys, if anyone is down in Lidl today could you check if the 4 in 1 cutting tool is still available? They are all sold out in Tralee. They only went on sale yesterday

    http://www.lidl.ie/en/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=26912

I tried ringing a few times but no-one is answering. Thanks in advance.

No sign of them in Killarney. Asked a member of staff and they said if they're not there they're not in stick out the back.

Anyone know why the tesco petrol station is closed with tape and cones blocking it. No work being done there either.

Possible robbery or else they're out of petrol?

Saw the Cork team bus getting a garda escort out the Cork road earlier. Bit odd?:/

I imagine that was due to traffic more than anything else. The volume of people around Killarney this weekend is insane, I was out last night after the cycle and everywhere was mobbed, I was at the game and headed into town and it felt like everyone at the game headed into town. It's great to see but it's just too busy to really enjoy.

Standard. Just getting them out of the traffic and on their way. Nothing malicious would have been the reason.

Jesus I'd hate to have been the lads cleaning the streets this morning!

There was a group of volunteers at Lidl car park at 7am to clean the outskirts of town. Council took care of the centre. Lashed rain all day do fair play those people.

Yeah it's a series like the one on The Shelbourne (I think) in Dublin last year. They followed the staff in the gleneagle for a few months. Been told by staff it's very good.

Is there anywhere in the Park ( near the Mission Road entrance ) to have a picnic?

Yes. Just beside Deenagh lodge is wide open grass areas. Or if you have the kids with you down next to the playground. There's goal posts there too. Again, wide open spaces. It would be very hard not to find a picnic spot.

Nope. I've heard nothing. The article you linked was the first I've heard. I just know the van is belonged to a local traveller because he comes into the place I work fairly regularly and I'd see him in tesco etc.

Ya. I've seen that van around a lot.

I've posted the article on the Tralee board too. I have to be careful posting the same link over & over though as the Boards won't allow it from one person, so maybe someone else could do it on the Listowel & Ballybunnion board?

That van has been done up by now, the guards would be more proactive playing their video games.

O Sullivans won't see you wrong. Either down opposite the cathedral or next to the dungeon bookshop. They're both the same people.
