I second this motion, now someone needs to start a thread about when and where!

Anyone else find it kinda strange, how far away (relatively speaking) Killarney town is from the Lakes?

Given the flooding down at Ross Castle all the time, it undoubtedly makes sense, but does anyone have any ideas why the town developed where it did?

Was prompted by the flooding in Kerry thread.

BECAUSE all the land around the lakes was privately owned and lets face it if u owned the place yoou would not leave people build there';.

a picket line??? On National Day of Shopping

public sector workers show their support of the strikes and determination against the government by going north or to ikea for the day (http://www.coolgarriv.com/2009/11/public-sector-strikers-head-north-shopping/)

That doesn't surprise me one bit!

It also explains why the traffic was so light yesterday :).

The first Snow fall is on top of Carrantouhill this morning.

Wonder if it will last long

That article and all other news reports were found to be pure and utter bull s**te by the way. AA roadwatch reported 2 massive car accidents on the M1 and major road works which resulted in the tailbacks. Nothing to do with the public sector workers in their droves. Plus, all the kids off school, parents are gonna go do something with them. :D

It is almost a week on newman10 and the snow is still on Mangerton Mountain also, a really lovely sight to wake up to I must say.

It's not like I have not been pushing for a beers since just after I started the thread =P

Due to redundancy, I also have the advantage of being able to attend a beers whenever (Cept Fridays). Woo.

My cat Tigz has been missing since Thursday 3 December from the Park Road area. She is a torti cat (black with flecks of brown, white tummy & white back legs & white front tips of her paws).. She has an injured back leg and has recently been in the vets for surgery.. She is spayed but not microchipped.. She does not wear a collar.. If anyone sees her please PM me.. I am heartbroken.. Thanks..

  • Registered Users Posts: 975 ✭✭✭newman10

    Gone very quiet here :confused::confused:

Does anyone have an opinion on the Christmas market ???? Heard that some stuff was very expensive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 968 ✭✭✭Oliverdog

    Nothing new there, then.
I haven't been up there yet but will give it a glance. The atmosphere is usually good, nearer to Christmas. Trouble is, you can buy a nice jar of festive relish for about €10.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,793 ✭✭✭oeb

Those markets are always way overpriced =/

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,691 ✭✭✭Lia_lia

Yeah I remember getting sweets last year from them. Got a little bag, they weighed it and it was €9 something! So I left the bag there and walked away :o

Oops, forgot about beers. Hmm. Might go to that "popcorn party" in the Granary. (I know, wtf?!) First Saturday night off work in months I'd say so I can't just stay in!
