Seatbelt question

Noticed the seatbelt in the car hasn't been tightening as well as it had been.
Pulling on the belt quickly from the frame will stop it most times, but jerking forward in the seat it only tightens two times in three.
    A bit worrying.
Is this normal behaviour for a belt ?

Jerking forward in the seat will not imitate what happens at a crash so it is probably ok. Trying jerking/pulling as hard and fast as you can.
Are all the belts about the same?

    Was it different before?
    How old is car?
    Model?
    Blah...

    It's a 96 Polo saloon.
It's only slightly looser than before, in that there's still a bit of play around the chest after you clip it in.
Will give your test a a try.
