I am going to have a look at this car on Saturday (interetsed in buying it) and was wondering what you think. It is between getting this and a Volkswagon Golf for roughly the same price. I will have cash upfront and was wondering (as I have know experiance) how I should bargain to get as much of as possible, and with cash upfront how much I should roughly bargain for. Also I pay €900 insurance on a Nissan Micra GX 1 Litre. I have had a full licence for 2 months. How much do you think the premium will go up to and becasue my premium does not expire until next August I was wondering can you transfer what I paid to insure a diffrent car i.e get say €600 off the premium for a car like this. Also can you swap over tax i.e I paid €165 on the Micra and if I got this car could I swap that over to this one also. Cheers in advance

Your Premium will go up on your next payment if you pay in installments otherwise your insurance co will require and additional lump sum to be paid. It is more likely that your premium will rise by atleast €400 per year. I pay €1200 fully comp on a 1.4 with a few years no claims and a female provisional driver named on my policy.

Tax is per car and cannot be transferred.

You can change the car on your current policy, but only your insurance company can tell you how much it will cost (if anyting) to switch over to the Opel. My girlfriend swithched her insurance from a 98 Seat Ibiza 1.4 to a 05 Mazda 6 1.8 last year, and it didn't change her premium, but your situation could be different. Give them a call and get a quote before you buy the car.

As for the road tax, you can't swap that over.

I'dsay be cheeky and offer 14k. There are plenty cheaper than the one you've got linked:

They aren't design spec and one is private sale but at those prices...
