i have wireles and its working fine on my home pc, try to get it on my laptop, i'm getting a strong signal on it but connection is timed out when i search for google.com

i'm going through internet options to use connection wizard, i am adding a new connection, but when it asks me what type of connection to select its the following options...
    - dial-up to private network (connecting using my phone line modem or isdn)
-connect to a private netwrk through the internet
    -connect directly to another computer
-connect to the network via broadband

    which one do i select?

why can't they make this easy??????

please help, its wrecking my head

Which operating system are you using, XP or Vista?

It s pretty simple to connect to a wireless network from either.

Your best bet is to open Network Connections in the control panel.
Right click your wireless network connect and select conect.
A list of availble networks should then appear for you to select.
