Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Manchester City v Arsenal (Match Thread)

Man City (from): Schmeichel, Johansen, Zabaleta, Richards, Dunne, Garrido, Wright-Phillips, Kompany, Ireland, Mwaruwari, Robinho, Vassell, Fernandes, Ben-Haim, Jo, Onuoha, Ball, Hamann, Elano, Sturridge, Evans.

Arsenal (from): Almunia, Diaby, Nasri, Denilson, Silvestre, Clichy, Bendtner, Vela, Ramsey, Song, Djourou, Fabianski, Adebayor, van Persie, Wilshere, Simpson.

With all this hassle with Gallas some would say it's a great time to be playing an unsettled Arsenal. However, we are hardly the most harmonised bunch at the moment.

Dunne and Fernandes return from suspension but Joe Hart is out.

My City line up (which will probably be way off given Hughes' problems with Elano and his fondness of feckin Vassell) -

    Schmeichel

    Zabaleta
    Richards
    Dunne
    Garrido

    Kompany

    Ireland
    Elano

    Wright-Phillips
    Robinho

    Jo

    Going for a 1-1 draw.

Could go either way really depending on whether City are having a hot or cold day, and how much this Gallas affair has affected Arsenal's morale.

    I backed City anyway...

That is literally the weakest arsenal starting 11 ive ever seen outside the carling cup!very very vey worried if City are having a good day!Only glimmer of hope is RVP and Adeybayor against the dodgy centre backs!

Vela, Ramsey + Wilshere to save Arsenal...

or probably just stay on the bench while the team sucks.

TBH is worse. By right Onouha should be given a chance but the captain was always gonna play.

    **** material from Robby.

I haven't read the team news. How come Gallas isn't playing? I'm sure his leadership qualities would have prevented both goals. :pac:

Arsenal may genuinely lose a CL place this season if they don't get it together, that could lead to an exodus with players like Fabregas and Adebayor leaving. Dark times at the Emirates... It's a shame really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Lol Robby put the feckin thing in.

Yep but I would say the worst exit would be Arsene Wenger. I've been having a read of the BBC message board and it's full of the 'Wenger out' stuff that was there a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if that will gather momentum. I think if they drive Wenger away they will very much regret it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,046 ✭✭✭eZe^

Ya, that storm has been gathering since the lack of summer transfer activity, and now the performances are only serving to make the jury carry more weight. It'll only get worse if things continue too, surely you'll sign someone in the transfer window? An Edgar Davids and a good CB is needed.

I didn't watch the game, but did Arsenal look hopeless the whole game? Did they really miss Sagna?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Beau x1

    Lmfao. Van Persie.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

1649: Robin van Persie puts the ball in the net for Arsenal - but only after kicking it out of Joe Hart's hands. Desperate from the Gunners.

    LOL

    RLY?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭Gangsta

why wasn't that allowed? yea, grasping straws I suppose.

    0-3....crushing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Beau x1

3-0 after penalty to man city.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

RVP's should have been allowed. Definite goal.

    Studge seals it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Beau x1

    Why wasn't RVP's allowed, though?
