Sorry but i thought id get quickest response from the nocturnal forum for obvious reasons.

Im dying of tonsilitis up in bed in the attic and cant sleep a tick. I just heard the side gate creek open, not sure if it was ours or the neigbhours.

My parents and sis are downstairs.

What the **** should i do?

Its either a burglar or nextdoor neighbour comin home from a night out...

Not really a nocturnal subject, but I'll allow it briefly so you can get some reasonable responses before I move it over to AH.

I would imagine most burglers would be careful enough not to make such noticable noises, so I reckon it's your neighbour.

ok ive switched a few lights on and off. im a little bit calmer now.

your prob right about the noise aspect, altho it ws very slight, as if someone was trying to do it queitly.
