Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've picked up an interest in antiques, mainly glasses, silver wear and pottery. Are there any auctions or fairs around the south kildare area? I'd love to go to one. Also is there anywhere I could get antiques that I have looked at, they're from the family and I know some are art deco, I would like to know more about the rest.

Your nearest auction rooms and a place that will give advice and valuations is Sean Eacrett's Ashgrove Auctions at Ballybrittas see below:

The Fine Art & Antique saleroom is located in Ballybrittas, between Portlaoise & Monasterevin on the N7, approximately 45mins from the Red Cow Roundabout. They hold monthly sales of Georgian & later furniture & effects, as well as specialist sales. Sean Eacrett can offer expert advice on all areas of the fine art and antique market, including; valuations for possible auction sale, insurance, probate, family division and tax purposes.

Millers Antiques Guides - there are many different ones covering antique furniture, collectables etc. are issued annually and are a good starting off point. Your local library probably have copies or can order them. Hope this of some use. :)
