In an attempt to strip vocals from mp3 files, simply so that I could record a friend singing along with background vocals, I paid €24 for software called Make Your Own Karaoke.

I want to alert anyone interested to the fact that this is re-packaged "Audacity" software. Audacity is free. The Audacity documentation actually states that vocal extraction does not work very well. Audacity software is very good for working with music files. I just feel duped that I paid €24 for something I had already downloaded free of charge.
