Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Improving FM Reception

    Hey all,

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Consumer Electronics section so mods, feel free to move if appropriate..

I bought an iLab iPod Alarm Clock/FM Dock yesterday and so far it seems like a pretty good little unit - the only problem I'm having is with the FM reception.

Most of that is because I'm living in an estate that's in a dip/valley in the area, but the iLab Dock comes with one of those FM cable antennas (rather than the solid telescopic metal types - hope that makes sense) and I'm wondering if there's a way to improve the reception out of these cables - maybe by wrapping it around a metal hanger etc? I can get a better reception in the car out in the driveway so I'm hoping it's possible.

    Ta for any tadvice..

type in home made aerials into google
soemthing like http://www.radiowaves.fm/articles/OutdoorAerials.shtml will give u a nice tech background.

You can make your own aerial - we have two wires drapping the roof of our house, my dad was a radio officer in his day and did research into it but real easy to implement.

If you have Chorus/NTL in the house then maybe you can plug your Radio into the FM socket?
