Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    3 November 2008
    Careers update

Like all state organisations, the Defence Forces is required to cut its payroll expenditure in 2009. Consequently, recruitment will not take place at this time. The matter is being kept under constant review.

It is likely that priority for recruitment will be given initially to specialist areas such as Apprentice technicians, Cadets and Medical Officers. A review of the numbers leaving the Permanent Defence Force together with available payroll funding and other related factors will take place during 2009 at which stage a decision on General Service recruitment will be made.

In the meantime the Defence Forces will continue to accept application forms from interested candidates and these will be retained on our current register. Similarly, if you have already applied for a position, the Defence Forces will keep your application on the register. You will be included in the recruitment process once approval has been granted to fill vacancies.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in a career in the Defence Forces.
