I'd possibly be interested in coming along if it was in Portlaoise - Dublin based so would only be an hour's hop down the motorway!

    After christmas, yes.

Definitely up for it..eh, that car could be anything though..god knows what I'll be driving by then..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 58 ✭✭madaboutcars

Long term lurker, but I think I've only once ever posted here before.

I've only been driving since February and only passed my driving test over the weekend, so basically I know nothing about what's good to drive and what's not, especially as I've only ever driven a Skoda Fabia and a (don't snigger) Volvo S40 old shape:D! Especially as neither of these cars are meant to be great to drive(the Volvo especially) if the "experts" are meant to be believed. Kind of difficult to form one's own opinion of a car without driving it!

Anyhoo that doesn't change the fact that I am a bit of a petrolhead, though every time I go in a diesel I can't fathom why you'd want a petrol apart from the better noise they make(well at least the ones with more thatn 4 cylinders anyway). I love reading over the arguments about why one is better than the other here though, so I really am looking forward to trying a diesel some day and seeing for myself if they live up to the impression you get as a passenger(the way they seem to blitz a petrol when you put your foot down for performance) or if as some here say they run out of steam after a while.

Just promise not to laugh at the fact that if I get an invite and I actually do turn up I'll be turning up in a Volvo S40(runs for cover with embarrassment at this stage) with choclate(fake wood) centre console and door panels:D! Please:D!

Your more than welcome, i think we're going to start paying people at this stage to come along haha:P

Sent you an invite to the group there.

Lol thanks, forgot to say i'm looking forward to meeting people who like cars too. I don't think we as a nation are really into cars, so it'll be nice to meet some of the select few who actually do.

Only one problem, I don't seem to actually have received an invite yet though!

OK maybe he didn't send it properly then, Limerick-man created it so he's the only one that can send invites. I'm sure he'll sort it out when he comes back online.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

    I'd like to come...

Voted for next year even though I might have some work to do at that stage (non at the moment). Can do Nationwide but preferably closer to Dublin than Cork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Should be invited there. Date and location are set for B.C (before christmas :P)

Shouldn't think so - even if there was one, no chance I'd get it on a Saturday.

thanks, received your invite this time.

Now all I have to do is post a little more, and then I'll join, as you need to have 25 posts before you can join groups:)!

I'm all for a meeting up before Christmas too, preferably close to Cork as I'll almost certainly be working at 4 in the evening, so if it's near to Cork and it starts early enough I'll be there for a short while anyway!
