I think 45 down is Gorteen (a place in Limerick)- an anagram of greet no.

Have you already got any of the letters in 31?

Are you sure the u is correct? If it was an s the answer would be simian.

There's a world-renowned ape rescue centre in Upwey, Dorset, England. This would fit with 'in an optimistic way', as in upwey. You can visit the apes and monkeys there...

The missing word was "upbeat". You did not post the word "upbeat" as the answer.

Does anyone know what the answer to "a peacon is chopped to make a savory" is?

I think that's "canape" (chop off the o, rearrange the letters, canapes are savoury.)

Oh and "upbeat" was the answer to the ape one (I couldn't get that one but my sister did)

The answer is Una ( un and a)

What is the answer to 1 across Waterford town?

    Also 33 down Munster river.

My Mam sent off the crossword so I don't remember all the answers. But I think the Munster river was the Maigue.
    Can't remember the Waterford town.
