Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2 days is enough in Belfast tbh. I did 2 nights of gigs in a row up there this summer and it was entirely enough, drove home straight after the second one!! The crowds up North are sh1te compared to southern crowds.

not really that arsed tbh, my ma wants to go see Coldplay so thats her gift, chilled out seated gig with a few pints and a few good choons will suit me down to the ground

    Fair play Xavi!

Are you any good at Tennis?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,907 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Used to be. I played club representative in my teens and we won a few Leinster leagues. Captained my school to a Div 3 schools title (first ever communty school to win one). Sadly those were the glory days. Still love a hit now though. It's a really great way to exercise.

Excellent, I am bit crappy at tennis, was always pretty poor at it but I love to watch it.

Used to play a bit of badminton , wasnt as bad at that strangley.

Playing wise I'm more into the gayest of the racquet sports, squash, I think it's more fun to play than tennis and gives a much better overall workout. However when it comes to spectating it's tennis and Nadal all the way.

Bad career move dude. You just don't get how these things work eh? :pac:

+ 1 for Nadal. Anyone who cheered for Federer at the Wimbledon final this year is a fool! :pac: Even if he does support the white sh1te he's still a legend!

I used to do a lot of tennis as a kid. My sports as a kid were soccer, Gaelic, tennis, chess (yes chess - not really a sport but I used to win the school tournaments back in the day) and shot put!!

Nowadays its soccer, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay-Thai and anything dangerous (classified as "adventure sports"!!) I'm sure it's what my folks had in mind or me when they raised me! How times change eh!!

Xavi, nice one not letting the bosses son win!! Oh and how was your night in here alone?!

Neil, let Madrid have Nadal, we do have Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. :pac:

I'd love to go snowboarding soon, haven't been in about 4/5 years, Soccer Off Topic Thread Snowday? :pac:

At least Nadal's uncle played for Barca and he was pretty damn good.

Id like to go skiing , but no one I know is interested.

I wanted to organise aa snowboarding hol but none of the lads are game. The missus is organising one and invited me but I'm not sure, I'll play that by ear tbh.

Yea i can't understand how Miguel let Rafa end up supporting them tbh!?!

Just jump in with a random topic like Hunter last night.

Hunter is a legend with his Bisexual missus, with the picture he posted last night, LEGEND.

You should go on that Neil, Frisbee would be a good person to go snowboarding with alright. :pac:

Probably just got annoyed that his uncle kept on bragging about winning 5 leagues, a champions league and a few other cups for FC Barcelona, it annoyed him so much when he came over on Christmas day that he started supporting the poo's. Again dangerously close to being on topic... :pac:

So, when are we going snowboarding?

re: Nadal, his name is Rafa & he is Spanish.

    Enough said.

    morning btw

Xavi, nice one not letting the bosses son win!! Oh and how was your night in here alone?!

Twas relatively quiet. The usual Down Under folk were in.

No such thing as a gay racquet sport btw. Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Table Tennis are all quality.

In honor of Neil, because I listened this driving in to work this morning full blast, greatest feeling in the world.

Most of the posters in here must have great jobs. Trips to deventer, soccer beers, boardeaux matches, snowboarding, skiing.

HOW CAN YOU AFFORD ALL THESE THINGS?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    Skiing is deadly craic.
Snowboarding is a lot harder to get good at, but once you do, much better than skiing

    Morning

My ski instructor from my first skiing hol used to tell this joke:

What's the difference between snowboard beginner and snowboard instructor?

    About 2 days.

    boardeaux matches

HOW CAN YOU AFFORD ALL THESE THINGS?!

    That costs me nowt.

The lads on the team pay €120 per season.

I look after the financial and team-picking side of it.

I'm getting better at the team picking and tactical side of things.

I just wish Xavi would come back, I have the perfect position for him.:(:(

    Yeah there will.

Some postponements at this start of the season have meant there's a game every week in Feb.

I found the exact opposite to be true. Anyone with decent balance could be going down a lot of slopes on ski's within 2 days, whereas Snowboarding could take up to a week to be anyway comfortable (often longer).

Rebel i agree, snowboarding is way way harder. I can ski down black slopes no problem, I pretty much suck still at snowboarding. But I kinda enjoy boarding more tbh.
