Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has been a reasonably good year for me and mine this year. I am lucky at the moment went contracting this year and got a place close to home, the money is quite good and it is a year contract which is almost unheard of but am glad for it. Compared to last year where I worked most part of the year away from the family all of the week and got paid a lot less I have to see am in a better place now.

yeah it ain't bad. they were gonna make us come back on the 2nd but realised whats the point dragging everyone in for a Friday, so the company is closed till the Monday now.

Ha my boss, being the cnut that he is, has only given the 24th/25th and 26th as hols as well as the 1st. Otherwise we're all aboard over xmas. I've no hols left so I'll be working. Could be worse. My gf has to work full long days on both xmas eve and xmas day. Now THAT would suck. I'm used to workin over xmas actually, last year was pretty much the 1st time I hadnt. Ive worked the morning of Xmas eve before. Ive worked stevos day and new years eve and day before so its no biggie.

2009 is going to be a good year for me. Why? Because I'm gonna make it a good year for me. Proactive FTW! :D

Fair play. Hope it works. Go and grab the low hanging fruit.

    I agree its much better.

    Your working Stephens Day?

I had a mixed year. Came home from Oz in January so when you compare this year to last it's hard to compete.

I hated the year after I came home from Oz.

    Probly yeah.

    Don't mind but.

I never get rat arsed on Xmas night anyway.

Work won't be busy, so instead of making wankery small talk with family members I don't like, I'll be in work, earning double time.

    Win/win tbh.

Plus, I'll have all youse guys here to keep me company.

    Right?

    Right?

Oh a lot of ours is holiday days that they force you to take. But I haven't used mine this year. Hence why I am looking forward to this break.

Even after Christmas hols I still have 10 days to take. 8 if i get the 22, and 23 off. Just gonna carry them over to next year.

    Nah. Business shmizzness!

I'll tell ya what, I went into a meeting the other day thinkin I was onna get teh sack. Do u know what? I didn't care. I wanted them to sack me so I'd get paid off and be out of this gheyness. I have no passion for it. My postcount the last year shows that too. Proactive for me is getting out of this and into something better. I swear to God the happiness that would bring me would last until sometime in 2011!!

Plus if my plan works out for me I'll be on the road travelling approx 15 months earlier than I would be sticking to this! :)

    So yea, proactive FTW!

Xmas Eve is the best night out of the year. It's the only built up night (Halloween, New Years etc) that actually lives up to it. FACT!

Xmas Day is hangover day. I normally need a drink later on though as the relatives start to melt my brain.

I hated seeing people walking around streets barefoot in Oz. Rings all sorts of personal hygiene related alarm bells.

    No thanks.

I walk around in bare feet a lot in the summer. In Dublin! Doing martial arts requires you to be barefoot regularly and my feet are fairly well calloused at this stage!

Last time I was in a bank was to get Sterling for Belfast. I queued for the separate Bureau de Change queue and then had some old twat have a go at me for "skipping the queue" :rolleyes"

I hope you're joking. You think the streets in the 'burbs are dinner plates compared to town? Come on man. Your feet must be black by the time you get home. It's the street man!!

Surprisingly the AIB in Clanbrassil street here in Dundalk is pretty good. I walk in to a queue of about 20 people and sigh but then find it goes pretty quick. Longest I've waited is about 10 mins I reckon, normally much less. Normally have about 5 or 6 windows open and the bureau de change desk will take regular bankers if there is no queue for money exchange.

See if you just wore shoes then you wouldn't have to wash them. I don't get it. How could you prefer to not wear shoes and have to wash your feet as opposed to slipping on a pair of flip flops or something?

    Morning.

I'll be working long days every day over xmas except for the 26th. Either New Years Eve or New Years Day (worked 11-9 last new years day) and two other days between the 27th and 3rd :(

There'e too much to catch up on when you get out of bed late...
