Never seen that!!:D An old man once told me that the main street in Castleisland was the widest in the world! That would be something to do there if it wasn't completely untrue!!

I'll believe it when I see it.

There hoping construction starts in june or july, the sooner the better. Castleisland has been at tender for quite a while now so it was ready to start once money was available for construction

Any news of an Abbeyfeale by-pass, or, on the other side of the county, a Macroom by-pass

Wont be seeing these bypasses going ahead for a few years at least. Abbeyfeale bypass will be brought together with the newcastle bypass all in one project and the N21 between both towns will be realigned also. The route is still in planning for this. It has to go through various processes before it goes to construcion. The Macroom bypass looks to be in a few years also. (Sorry for going a bit off topic on the thread)

    What to do in castleisland?

Well when en route to Limerick I had a very nice chat with a fellow also stuck in traffic on the opposite side of the island heading to Killarney :) . It turns out far away hills (or roads) aren't always green (or free-flowing) either
