Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 points really is a must for the Gooners here tonight to take the pressure off.

    Teams to follow soon

    What I'd hope for:

    Almunia
    Song----Gallas---Djourou----Clichy
    Ramsey---Fab----Denilson---Vela
    Ade
    RVP

3 centre backs, 4 centre midfielders - lack of width just doesn't cover it. Be interesting to see Vela and Van Persie work together though.

    Arsenal Team:

    Almunia
    Djourou---Gallas---Silvestre---Clichy--
    Ramsey----Fab---Song----Denilson---
    Vela
    RVP

    Kiev Team:
(Apologies not sure of their positions)

    Bogush
    Betao
    Diakhate
    Asatiani
    El Kaddouri
    Eremenko
    Vukojevic
    Ghioane
    Aliev
    Milevskiy
    Bangoura

About time Vela got a start. Very interesting line up from Wenger

oooohh, Vela making is first CL start?

Should be interesting. Maybe he's playing on the wing with just Van Persie upfront.

Vela anytime scorer at 13/8 on PP just became my nicest bet of the night.
Especially against a lacklustre Kiev defence at home.

Like the look of that Arsenal team an awful lot tbh, should dominate a poor kiev side. Would love a Vela goal too :D

Jayzus the ground is half empty.
Are supporters really giving up hope that easily?

This Arsenal side seem to be well up for it tonight tbh.

Hopefully people still stuck in the pub on way to ground, only Club Level sells drink on cl nights or tube problems, I hope.

Vela obviously didnt like Gallas' comments... :p

This is looking like a good game so far, Gallas fell over just there.

Kiev player booked for pushing Fab before free kick.

Gallas may be a dope when it came to what he said but he's still committed to Arsenal.
He went at that ball like a fcuking rocket

Was just gonna say that, seems up for the game too. I think he's got a point to prove that he's still valuable to the team.

Agreed, I really think this might be a blessing, I think we might see a more consistent Billy Gallas, am also glad he got a good reception but to be honest I knew he would :)

Never knew Luzhny was assistant manager of Kiev.
Always liked him when he was with us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

Perhaps it wouldve been better for Bendtner to start, and then Vela on the wing? The 2 lads upfront can't really hold it up with back to goal long enough.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Beau x1

    Vela is looking promising imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

The real problem is that RVP is dropping too deep.
That was a goal a minute ago if he had have stayed up and Vela hadnt had to wait for him.

F*** sake Robin right at the keeper..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Gallas would have been burned at the stake if that had have gone in...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Gallas has a goal ruled out for offside.
    Would have been beautiful

Ah ****, Ramseys flag went up.
    0-0 HT.

Wow Gallas really doesnt like van Persie.
Just blocked his shot off the line!

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭Faddymackshyte

How on earth did that end up in the back of the net?!?!?!!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,397 ✭✭✭yahoo_moe

Djourou's throw-ins have to be just about the most suspicious I've ever seen from a professional footballer... shocking.

On another note, Van Persie's no Rory Delap.:)

Agreed. They all look like foul throws.
I think a stricter ref would have called him up on it by now.

    skettttttchy defending

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    Bendtner on for Ramsey.

Thank god it wasn't Vela. I already had a big rant written :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭Faddymackshyte

    Bendtner about to come on....:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    That was pathetic from Aliev.
Rolling around like he had a broken leg then as soon as Kiev got the ball he was up like a light without a bother on him.
    Deserves a booking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,397 ✭✭✭yahoo_moe

Dynamo have put some nice moves together around the middle. Luckily for us, they seem to be lacking a lethal passer up top to really use the space they're being given.

I'm watching it online because the rest of the family are watching the United game and online is like 3 minutes behind.......lame.

Yeah I caught that. Probably the most blatant example of dishonesty from a player you will ever see.

    Wilshere on
    Vela off

Good to see Wilshere on. Not happy with Vela being taken off. He's been our best attacking player

  • Registered Users Posts: 799 ✭✭✭Indie18

wilshire for vela is the right call for me.

He provided a much better attacking outlet than RVP all night.

Can't believe Bendtner didnt slide for that the lazy bastard...

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭Faddymackshyte

Ah now, Vela had some good movements.

    Bendtner......WTF?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 799 ✭✭✭Indie18
