    General rowdiness.

Haven't been at one in years to be honest, they get old pretty quickly.

90% souped up shopping trollies and about 3 nice cars.

Depends where you go mate, as the previous poster said, majority tend to be a collection of rubbish hatches, with tinted windows, and Fusion stickers.

I past one in an industrial estate recently and decided seeing as how my car could be termed modified, went in.. All I saw, genuinely were 1.3 civics, corsas, PUNTO's, with a few old minging estate scoobys and an old evo 5. Needless to say I didnt even stop, and returned home.

No scene here at all for it mate, I've been two a couple of the Big Celica meets in the UK, and there a far better crowd, no disrespect to any irish organisers but there years behind.

I've been to a few Altezza cruises in my time. Usually gets 40 or 50 clean, nice cars at it... Bein RWD, it usually involves alot of tyre burning....

Agreed, theres only one kind to go to and thats proper organised meets that have nothing to do with the term "cruise"

Proper meets orangised by owners clubs are the way to go, the gardai are notified, everyone goes, meets in a car park and has a bit of craic, no messing or racing is tolerated or the culprit is banned from the club, perfect.

Cruises are where scum get togehter to rev the sh*te out of there 1.3 starlets and race each other with total disregard for safety or anyone else on the road or in the area, there a total joke and a scurge to the genuine car loving community

Yep seen one out by the crescent behind the cinema, just lads doing donuts and hanging out the windows while doing donuts. Was very funny when the pigs turned up and blocked the entrance/exits so that they could take all their names etc

nice 1, pretty much sums up my mates that goes to these :D most of em driving saxos and starlets (imho the gayest car ever) my car is a work in progress. cant do much to d engine cos i only got my pink license but modifying interior 1st and then exterior. its a 1.4 escort. want to do the opposite to most people. im planning on reducing engine noise rather then amplifying it, ever hear of it bein done. the only thing i can think of doin is maybe insulating the bonnet but itd prob overheat

hah thats my kind of modifying;)

I dunno where you would start with that suppose exhaust silencer...............wouldnt overheat................bitta streamlining would help noise maybe but would be minimal..................

tis an odd thing to do

I dont see anything wrong with saxos and starlets, everbody does daft things when theyre young including the op;)
let them away with "moddin theyre motorz" if they want, tis not bothering you in the slightest...........cruise is not seen as a good word though..........associated with messing and general shenanigans

yeah i know i like something different, after all aint that the whole point of modifying d car. i know its not harming anyone but they just act like shams. like theyre only 1.1 and 1.2 litre cars. but yeah i want it silent, might have to get a diff engine though. 10 year old ford engine aint that peacefull. was in halfords asking what they cud recomend for even cleaning the engine but id say ya have to have the i.q of a deaf chimp to work in there. nobody could even give me any sort of idea, the shop that it is id imagine they would be asked questions like that but anyways. so im thinking silencing, gettin a blue tint, and ive a couple of drawings done up of d bodykit id like, whether itd be road leagal or not would be another story

not into modified cars are we?
i wouldnt class an evo 5 as minging imo, wether it be old or not its still a fantastic car imo

Thats pretty sham-tastic right there..bit of pot calling kettle black..Anyway to reduce noise, id keep the standard exhaust or maybe even buy a new standard one and get an exhaust place to add a few baffles into it.

Jaysus, bit harsh there don't ya think

possibly, but i was reading recently where gardai tried to break up a cruise that was happening in a town centre where there was loads of idiots acting the maggot and revving there engines for no good reason and the gardai ended up getting there car windows smashed.

in my opinion cruises are best avoided and proper organised meets by owners groups and the likes are much more enjoyable

Sometimes the truth can be harsh.. Slight generalisation but I think he's hit the nail on the head. Lot of riff raff associated with 'cruises' in fairness..
