    Since its release two months ago, Portal has met with overwhelming popular and critical success thanks to its quirky physics and dystopian humor. Yet beneath the mainstream success lies the most subversive first-person shooter (FPS) ever created. Portal is essentially a feminist critique of the FPS genre, flawlessly executed from within the margins it assails. Gender politics just got a whole lot more fun.
    The Portal Gun creates connections rather than destroying life. It is through innovative placement of these connections, or portals, that goals are achieved or enemies overcome. A psychoanalytic reading would likely conclude that the portal is an image of the female sex organs: oval and receptive, and also a metaphorical birth canal through which the protagonist is constantly being born into new trials.


    i know the article is almost a year old, but jesus christ. I just read this and I felt that others had to suffer too.

    I alleviate the pain by looking at the "Portal porn" (Im sure a swift google search will solve your curiosity) and normality returns.

    Or it could just be a puzzle game where you make little portals to solve puzzles.

    Wait, the portal was a vagina? Does that mean I scored when I played it?
    Also, since there where no personal shields or armor to equip like in most fps, does that mean it was promoting unsafe sex?
    Lastly, if the portal was a vagina, what kind of sex toy where the main charcters heel springs?:pac::D
