I did a 4 mile run today as well, and tried not to sweat too much so I wouldn't have to wash the gear . Failed.

Did a 2m trot down to the start and then ran the "Run for Life" with two of the lads.We all stayed together for 8m and then one of them wanted to push on so we covered the last 2 in 13:05 to finish in 72:25...
Big crowd and good atmosphere all the way round, was bursting with energy but wary of saving it for next week.

No more weeks to count down now....only days

Enjoy the last few days Sosa! This time next week you'll be well on your way to the sub 3. This has been one the most consistant training logs which leaves you well positioned for a great finish time. Its the most common piece of advice but remember you only ever run your first marathon once so enjoy the occasion as well as everything else.

Best of luck

Thanks Ike,
Everything has gone to plan,i have done what i set out to do,we will just wait and see what happens.
Amadeus going so close yesterday proved that even if you do all the hard work, you still may not get there, not taking anything away from his time but he set out for sub 3,if thats me next week i will be gutted.

Someone said on here a while back that its better to fail at a very hard target time that have success at an easier one.

Ahhh, but you've trained better than I had. VR is right, the only thing stopping you now is mind games. 4 10ks of 42:30 each and it's yours.

4 x10k @ 42:30 sounds ok,but you have to go do it.

Thanks again and i hope to get over to the Conrad afterwards for a half hour maybe before i get collected ( have to get the dart out to dun laoirghe )

Well done again on your PB,and i suppose you are already thinking of where you plan to shave off those 35 seconds.

Thanks VR,i will be having a go alright.
I am just going to tag along with those pacers,as that will keep me on track, during my MP runs i was going about 7/8 secs a mile to fast anyway on those.

dying to see how you get on. best of luck. in my humble experience its hard to not go too fast at teh start so watch this.

best of luck and keep away from people shaking hands and coughing etc.

best of luck on monday sosa - would love to be running it with you. I don't think you could have approached your training any better than you did, i'm sure the same even, consistent approach to the race will see you there in good time.

Thanks Asimonov, thank god for the pacers,i would say that if they were not there i would go to fast to early,i have pacing issues, today i could not even do 2@MP,they were 6:46 and 6:48,i know its hard to get it spot on but i had to slow down to get it to that.
At least on Monday i will not pass the pacers unless they are not keeping up the pace or i have a bit in the tank with 1/2 to go ( which i doubt ),so its all about tagging along with them.

If you've put as much effort into your training, as you have into the tables in your log, I predict you'll record one of the best debut marathon times we've seen around these parts.

Best of luck on Monday. I don't think you're going to need it.

So,thats it now.
18 weeks down...only one thing left to do.
I am very happy with the way my training went,i was very fortunate in that i avoided injury and more or less avoided any sickness.
I am really looking forward to Monday now.
Hope to bump in to a few boardsies while i am up there.
Bib 723...i will be all in black ( either long or short sleeve, have not decided yet ) if anyone sees me.

Good luck to everyone else doing it and i hope you all have a great day,and thanks also to everyone for reading my log and wishing me well.
I would never imagined that i would have over 15,000 views when i set out, thanks again,it kept me going during the last 4 months.
