30 days is enough. You owe it to yourself.

Lots of people give up for November. It's almost a tradition
Would you wait until December 1st?

    It's my birthday.

    There's a reason.

    Go for it.

As long as you don't buy it in a pub. Boycott pubs.

Why a pint? Ask the barman for exactly 567ml of beer.

if it's only one pint then no. what's the point poisining yourself / ruining what you've got going if you barely get to feel the effects?

    Have one on me.
Tries to PM banknotes but they won't stick to screen.

I wanted to give up the drink for November but I stopped drinking a week early (26 October). So now it's Nov 26 and I am off the booze 30 days.

Does 30 days count as a month? Either way I will be pinting on Friday.

EDIT: By pint I mean several.

I am considering posting another thread entitled "Should I make decisions based on the opinions of randomers on the internet?"

Not sure about title. What do people here think?

heya, was it in an effort to cut back or more to prove to yourself you could so for the next 11 months you can binge away? Are you aiming to lower your overall intake or when you go back on it you'll be drinking as much as you used to despite it making you ill because your tolerance has dropped?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭silvine

    All of the above :D

    :-p

If you're a heavy drinker it could be a good point to form some good habits as regards not over doing it, seeing as you've managed to stay off it completely for the last month.

So, I'd say yeah, have yourself a drink or 3, but try and stop when you know you're drunk, rather than automatically shovelling more into yourself. yeah, back I go to my perfect world :-p

    Good luck either way.

Depends on why you gave up...

Problem = Have a few drinks but don't go back into old habits.

Just to see if you could = Fair balls to ya /sends bottle of vodka in the post*

    *may not be real vodka*

If you want one then have it, if you don't, then don't.

Do what you want, it's simple as. Sometimes i wonder if some people can't make a choice without asking Boards what to do first. I suppose someone's gonna make a thread asking us if they should eat their dinner next or go to bed.
