Can anyone tell me the taxes and charges that a firearm(2nd hand) is subjected to when bringing it into the Rep of Ireland?

Not sure on second hand but the Taric database shows the duty would 3.20% + VAT @ 21% on the value of the item (this would be from US). Import from within EU wouldn't have any duty/VAT added.

21.5% unless you can get it in within the next 3 days.
