The questions are the same as the ones of the course outline, I assume that's where you're seeing those sample questions?

Just to clarify, do you mean these ones?

    Example Essay Questions:
    1) Why is the term terrorism a contentious one? Should state terror be included in a definition of terrorism?
    2) What factors drive individuals to join a terrorist organization? How is motivation sustained?
    3) What role, if any, does patronage (state and/or community) play in sustaining terrorist campaigns?
    4) What are the many ways in which terrorist organizations financially sustain their campaigns?
    5) Choose one tactic that terrorist organizations have at their disposal (such as suicide bombing). From a terrorist organization perspective, what are the perceived advantages and disadvantages associated with this tactic?
    6) Choose a terrorist organization covered in this course and do a case study of it (you will need to incorporate some of the following questions: what type of terrorist organization is it? What drove the organization to use terrorism? What is the typical member like? What role does patronage play? How does it finance itself? What types of anti-terrorism methods have been employed- have they worked? What tactics did it typically use?)
    7) Outline various counter-terrorism methods states have at their disposal. Which in your opinion is the most/least effective and why?
    8) Is there anything new about ‘new terrorism’?

Yeah, those are the ones alright. He gave out the essay titles on a handout in one of the lectures a few weeks ago, that's what I'm working off.
