I'm not sure if this is the correct place, but I seen an paper advert for Leopardstown Christmas races, was going to go as it was a good day out last year.

They are advertising tickets at €20 to buy online or €25 on the day/phone, the issues.

    1) online they are €20 plus a €3 booking fee.
    2) more annoyingly they were €16 to buy on the gate last year, thats an increase of 64%.

Reserved tickets were €25 last year. they're €25 this year too.

Booking fee is €3 per booking no matter how many tickets you buy. - 5 tickets = €103, 1 ticket = €23. No further credit card / service charges as per operators like ticketmaster.

Could save 20 mins waiting at the turnstiles.

General admission is at the gate only - was €16 last year and probably €16 this year too.

So that's a 0% increase on last years prices!!!

thanks for clearing that up, we just decided to turn up last year as the weather was fine that day. There was also no queue for parking or turnstiles about 10 min before first race.

The advert is not very clear then, with the "€25 purchase your ticket on the day or over the phone". To me on the day would mean at the gate.

Yep - correct but there are two gate areas. One is the general admission area that is away from the finishing line and the other "reserved area" which is overlooks the finishing line and which also has the better bars / food etc.

For casual race goers either area is as good as each other. So put the extra 9 quid on that 33/1 outsider and you never know!!

Just looking to buy tickets - the €20 (plus €3) is for the enclosure... they don't seem to be selling for the general admission?

as per post 3 posts up. general admission is at the turnstiles only. No prepaid tickets are sold for general admission area.

"Enclosure" tickets are what were previously known as Reserved ticket area.

Don't lose all your money & weather looking great for the festival.

There is no reserved enclosure for any of the days over Christmas in Leopardstown this year folks.

Leopardstown has created a single enclosure for all racegoers, commencing at this year's Christmas Festival.

Racegoers will now have full access to the combined grandstand and reserved enclosure.

There will be a new pricing structure to reflect the new arrangement, with a single price of €20 for tickets booked on the Leopardstown.com website, €25 for turnstile customers and a €15 concession rate for senior citizens and students.
