Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For those in Erris who are delivering sustainable tourism, producing organic food, art and crafts, traditional skills training, etc., or are interested in making their existing tourism venture more green and sustainable :
    "
    Are you involved in …
    Green tourism

    Nature tourism
    Marine tourism
    Sustainable tourism
    Organic food production
    Walking trails
    NPWS
    Leader

    Traditional skills training & education
    Traditional arts & crafts production
Any other aspect of tourism ?

Are you interested in making your tourism enterprise more sustainable ? Or in going eco ?

    You are invited
    To an
    Exploratory meeting
    To discuss
Establishing a local grouping of like-minded people in tourism, to grow a sustainable tourism product offering from Erris and North West Mayo.

We could call it Eco Erris.

    Thursday December 4th,
Áras Maolchiaráin, Sráid an tSéipéil, Béal an Mhuirthead.
    7.30 pm

Would have liked to have gone to that meeting but only just saw your post - how did it go?

As a first meeting, it was really good, with a mix of accommodation, walking, water activities, nature conservation (monitoring, population counting, etc.), guiding providers. A next meeting will be scheduled for early Jan and I will give you the details when I have them.
One call I would make is for providers interested in sustainability adn perhaps eventually ecotourism to become involved. That includes those in inner Erris and North West Mayo, as well as those out on the Mullet.

The next meeting to explore developing a group of like-minded tourism providers in Erris to move towards sustainable tourism and then ecotourism will take place in Belmullet w/c Mar 16.
If you are a tourism provider and would like to become more green and sustainable, then PM me for details. You'd be welcome. Genuinely interested parties only please.
