Just thinking about that car I should never have sold. A little gem of a jap import. A Mazda 323 Interplay. This baby was fully loaded from Japan. It was the best handling car I've ever drove even a torson bar across the front end. And the rear spoiler with the built in brake light looked like something out of knightrider. Oh I miss my Mazda....:(

I have this exact same Car and it is a Gem. It a 1992 and is still better than most new cars on the road today. All electrics including folding mirrors, air con and still drives well. I have it parked around the back of the shed and always starts first time without any problems. Grate back-up Car

my 156. Bought it new and kept it for 8yrs. Fully serviced, not a day of bother and had full leather, sport pack. Sold it for just over 4k in Jan...still see it on a daily basis which makes it worse

I say good riddence to my previous cars, although the father had an 1980 Ford Escort in the 80's, red with black strips. Fog lights and a sunroof they cut in them selves. I think he's still kicking himself over it. Same goes for a Skoda Coupe, early 1970's i think.

1964 austin Healey sprite, 1924 pz, bough it for 80 pounds. used it for a yaer or so, broke down one day, got a lift home and donated it to a MG owner.

1980 or so Opel Rekord, fsi 849 I think, bough for 550 ,used for 2 years. had belonged to a guy who looked after it very well. sold it for 250.

volkswagen Jetta pre 87 reg, had it in 96. great car, cost very little, used do 140 miles to a tenner(punts). It went on fire ,by itself, fire around the carb, outside my house. Insurance gave me more for it than it cost. Got it driving again but wife not happy.

ok ,ok onkle. we all live at our own level.

Many car enthusiasts sell because they want to try another model ! Usually when I change my car , I change to something different , probably interest and curiousity and a challenge. Don't understand the guys who trade in every two years for the same make and model.

They're usually the ones who care more about the year on the number plate than the car. I used to work for a finance company came across them every day, usually after they were refused finance and couldn't face the prospect of their neighbour having a newer car than them. Muppets.

I miss my MGB GT even the rusty bits...

Opel Kadett GSi 16V(NOT Vauxhall Astra GTE 16v!!!) ....TWO of them ,one black ,one white both crashed by next owners within a few months ...0-62mph in 6.9 seconds (according to owners manual -felt faster)AND could do over 40mpg with a bit of restraint...not easy in a car that could do double the motorway speedlimit and have LOTS left to spare ...

A 1985 mark 2 Golf GTI, bought it in 1988 when I was serving my time, sold it on condition I got first refusal on it when new owner was selling it, got it back 8 years later on the back of an AA recovery truck after hitting a tree, a total write off, I was nearly in tears, still have it. I plan on crushing it and burying it in the garden some day, I loved that car.:(

my olda Alfa 146 funking car was rock solid , took off like a bullet , never gave me a minutes trouble and was modified ever so slightly but so so well maintained.

Luckily I sold it to my sister and I'll be buying it back off her early in the new year as my 2nd car for ****s and giggles :)

Really, really miss my '93 Audi Quattro Coupe 2.8 4WD in British Racing Green with walnut dash and cream interior. Was very understated looking, very fast and handled like a go-kart. Pretty rare car and will become a classic. Sold it in 06 for €5k.

    I want it back!

1996 Alfa 146 1.6L Boxer. Never any trouble, and had a serious roar out of the boxer engine. It was hilarious really, in a fairly ordinary looking four-door hatchback to floor it and have people turn their heads to see what it was :D After a bit of research I found out that Alfa only made them with the Boxer engines until 1996, then they were killed off by emissions regs and replaced with the T spark units. Turned out the exact same engine was used in the Alfasud so it was already fairly outdated by 1996.

1981 300D Mercedes Benz - My old man bought it new.
He gave it to me when I finished college, but told me I had to give it back before it got to 500K on the clock. I had it for two years. Great car - very economical - got twenty guys in the car one day, for a trip to the pub. :D

I gave it back to him before it got to 500K.

Soon after it went over 500K, he lent it too a mate, and it died!

    Such is life.
