hey, i was wondering if any body could help me out, and recommend a hd as i'm a little clueless about reliable brands and so on.
i'm looking for a external hard drive for my new macbook pro, so obviously mac compatible is the first thing on the list.
i also need firewire 800 and some other connections if possible as i plan to do some video editing on it.
my budget is around €160 and i'd hope to get around 500gb.
the main hd i've been looking at is this lacie 500GB d2 Quadra 3Gbits, but haven't been able to find any reviews online, anybody used one?
    thanks the help!

No affiliation but this looks like a great deal: 1TB WD drive, FW 800, USB 2.0 and eSATA for €170. There's a positive review there as well. You're bound to find even more on the likes of Amazon.

You don't need to worry about Mac compatability. All this requires is reformatting the drive with HFS+ in Disk Utility.

    Edit: sorry, forgot link! :D
